Longtime actress friends Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts locked lips on stage at the Women In Film's Crystal + Lucy Awards, held in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

In a series of photographs, Kidman, 47, can be seen grabbing 46-year-old Watt's face as she leaned in to kiss her.
The friendly gesture sparked a series of cheers from the crowd who looked on, as Watts and Kidman smiled at each other. In a strange twist, both the Hollywood heavyweights were wearing unflattering, floral shower caps.
Kidman and Watts were at the Women In Film 2015 Crystal plus Lucy Awards in Los Angeles. Kidman even bagged the Crystal Award for Excellence in Film.
Accepting her award, Kidman spoke about female empowerment and her own career regrets. "I am horrified to report that I passed on the part she offered me," she said. "My excuse was that I had final exams to study for, but the truth is the part would have required me to appear up on the screen wearing a shower cap and kissing a girl...I wanted to be the kind of actress with long flowing hair [who] kissed boys.
Making a case for teenage girls who want to pursue their dreams, the actress urged everyone to encourage girls to realise their dreams.
"Let's pledge together today to be there for that girl, to support her artistically, emotionally [and] financially. Let us create opportunities for her and teach her to manage that inner voice that is trying so hard everyday to hold her back," she said. "Let us show her that she is strong, smart and talented and she deserves every part that might interest her and at equal pay, too."
