The fight for a seat at the University of Delhi's undergraduate courses this year has got tougher with cut-offs for all subjects across colleges soaring sky high with some asking for a perfect score.

In the first list released late on Wednesday, the cut-off for BSc (Hons) computer science was set as at 100% at the College of Vocational Studies (CVS) and Indraprastha College for Women (IP) for students who have not studied physics, chemistry and mathematics in Class 12. At, CVS the computer science cut-off ranges from 95 to 100% while at IP College it is between 97 to 100%.
Last week St Stephen's, which follows a different schedule and procedure for admission, had announced its first cut-off list with the highest requirement for English honours at 99%. The cut-off for a seat in the college's English (Hons) class works out to 99% for commerce, 97.75% for science and 97.50% for humanities, the highest for any of the subjects on offer at the college.
For the academic session 2015-16, the university has received 3.7 lakh applications for admissions which will begin on Thursday.
Compared to last year, the increase in cut-offs has been more for science subjects than they have been for commerce and humanities. For popular courses across the board, the minimum cut-off has been set at 90%. In some colleges, like Dyal Singh College in south campus, the cut-off has seen a 12% jump in some courses.

The lowest cut-off for the subject is at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, at 87%. Hansraj, IP, Ramjas, Shivaji and Sri Venkateswara have kept it at 97%.Science courses

For BCom (Pass), the highest cut-off is at 99% at Maitreyi College this year, while last year it was at 97.25-to 99.75% at Hansraj College.
While for BCom (Honours), this year the highest cut-off is at 98% at Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, CVS and LSR. Last year it was 97-99.5% at ARSD college.
There has been an increase in the minimum cut-off percentage this year. Last year, the minimum cut-off for history was at Vivekananda College at 73%, this year it is 75% at Bharti College.
However for political science the minimum cut-off remains same at 75% at Satyawati College.
